Sun Dog-Wolf Wishes, Sun Pillar Reality, Same Photographic Evidence of Exquisite Serenity

As seen in the photos on yesterday’s blog, the sun had set by the time I returned to the road, and the sky had POPed (PinkyOrangePurpled):

My Last Photo

The battery had nearly run out on my phone, and I took this photo with 1% left. I wondered at the time if it was a sky effect known as a sun dog, but checking up yesterday that’s more when it looks as if there is a ‘sun’ either side of the sun.

It would have been apt for my greenYgrey concept, as from the start it was supposed to be a sun wolf, rather than the more stereotypical moon wolf; its greenness was supposed to have been sun-dyed, and later its Y ascended, partly symbolising the yellow of the sun, and its enlightenment.

The fact that I saw brilliant sky scenes during the sunny daylight, and didn’t see the Northern Lights in the moony night (there was a cool crescent moon near the same seaside horizon as the sun in these photos) does fit in with the greenYgrey sun wolf theme.

This photo seems more like a sun pillar, where the sun’s light extends vertically, making it look as if it is really long, or there are more than one. That isn’t the sun in the photo, as it’s already below the horizon:

I don’t think I’ve ever taken a better POP photo, although it looks even better on my phone gallery; inspiring me to this moment name such PinkyOrangePurple photos POPhotos, pronounced POP-hotos!

I apologise for loving my own photos so much. It’s not my photography I love though, it’s the beautiful scene of immaculate nature; just like the great artists of the Romantic era!

Super Moon Between Two Successful Sunrise and Sunset POPs: sMs

There was a hat-trick of sky beauty yesterday and today, as a POP (PinkyOrangePurple) sunset was followed by clear sky for the super moon, and then this morning there was another sensational POP sunrise, starting at about 7.45am, before the sun rose about twenty minutes later – and then it was time to look away.

In greenYgrey (gYg) acronym parlez the sunrise-moon-sunset would be shortened to sMs, with sms also an acronym for short message service – a recent BBC news feature was about why people still text. A photo from Washington featured on MSN seemed to include them all together in one; what could be called a POP moon:

POP Skies the new POP Music

The heading of the article reminded me of the song Dancing in the Streets, with Mick Jagger and David Bowie including a lot of great greenYgreying in their video; especially Jagger’s clothes.

Replace ‘summer’ with ‘winter’, ‘dancing’ with ‘POPing’ (pronounced popping), and ‘music’ with ‘clear skies’, and you’ve got a great POP version!

This is all written from a parody comedy angle of course. I don’t want to replace pop or rock music, especially with the greenYgrey world in the human one ending in the ABBA age!

Next month there’s a wolf moon and blue moon. As expertly explained on BBC news this morning, the wolf moon derives from Native American culture, as wolves are said to howl more poignantly in cold January, when food is scarce and they struggle to survive; while the blue moon is because it’s the second one in January, falling on the last day, so February will not have one, and that’s why there is the saying, ‘Once in a blue moon’: because having two full moons in one month is quite rare.

Moreover, in the greenYgrey world it will see the transition from MIST to MUSE (Midwinter Until Spring Equinox [around March 21st, when the days are equal light and dark]), with the four months known together as mistYmuse. Y-day is on January 21st.

Sky Highlights, December 2017

Before that, it looks like there’ll be a great pre-POP morning sky mid-month, as reported on Cosmic Pursuits:  ‘As it makes its way eastward along the ecliptic, the thin crescent Moon lies just 5º to the north of the planet Mars in the eastern and south-eastern sky before dawn.’

This is included from a mainly aesthetic (looks nice), amateur scientific, mildly pagan ancient wisdom angle, rather than any later religions.

6-5-4 Devilish Dairy POP Countdown

Manchester United beat Newcastle 4-1 yesterday, with lots of satanic connotations, as one might expect from the Red Devils. While the goals total didn’t reach 6, the Number of the Beast, the Red Devils did score four, the same amount of letters in evil. Moreover, Newcastle scored the first, providing the D: D-evil.

I don’t believe in it myself, and it’s just a bit of comedy wordplay. Manchester football does seem a bit like heaven and hell at the moment though, with City playing nice free football, while little madman imp Mourinho has surrounded himself with big men that look like stereotypical demons… like I can do now too, showing I’m not trying to demonise others and not myself! He reminds me of The Cult’s Lil Devil:

POP Sky in the… Example of Different Fields

My POP (PinkyOrangePurple) paradigm shift in twilight colours from red has nothing to do with football, although it’s a funny and convenient coincidence, and is firmly rooted in nature and science – therefore providing an example of how I’m writing about lots of things, above and beyond the grass roots topics of sport, race and sex; I may write about them too, but they are not the be all and end all.

My POP paradigm shift was purely accidental, as a result of observing the sky quite a lot, and writing a book with a pop art theme at the time. My POPolutionaries, created generic name, for some imagined fans, mostly parodying Russell Brand’s revolutionaries,  followed on from that… and calling fans of the greenYgrey greenYgreyliens. I don’t know of any POPolutionaries or greenYgreyliens, and joking about it probably means there won’t be, but I think my writing is good enough to have some ‘fans’.

Should the old proverb ‘red sky in the morning/night, shepherd’s warning/delight’ be changed to ‘POP sky…’? I don’t know, but don’t think books should be recalled and pulped because of it.

Dairy Friends Theory Better than Veins

In another example of different fields converging, but being separate, this is about friends, using an analogy, but it does bring up material from another topic I am quite passionate about.

A few blog posts ago I wrote that extracting yourself from negative friends was like taking fat out of veins so you can breathe better, but that was a spontaneous prose stream of consciousness thought, and I’d thought of one I consider better before, and remembered it again afterwards.

Over the last fifteen years I’ve been trying to eat healthier, and had acquired a few maxims from the internet, such as eating foods containing vitamin C with iron foods, which are nuts and green leaved veg for me. However, years after I read that, I read that eating foods containing dairy with such iron foods can have as much of a negative impact as vitamin C can have a positive impact.

Readers who think I’m trying to convince them to eat healthily or veganly will probably be thinking I’m trying to get them to stop eating dairy, but I’m just about to add that eating dairy and other fats with tomatoes is supposed to be beneficial for releasing lycopene, the beneficial compound within.

Are Friends Dairy (referencing Are Friends Electric? by Tubeway Army

I have now become a bit of an androidesque human, reminding me of a documentary about Gary Numan (Android in La La Land) in 2016, where he seemed a bit like Chris Packham in his Asperger’s documentary. I liked AFE, in my year 1BR (1 Year Before Rock), 1979, but not enough to become a fan. Totally opposite to the scruffy bedlam of rock and metal looking back on it:

Friends Analogy Update, but not Paradigm Shift (like twilight colours)

So I was thinking it’s the same with friends as it is with dairy: some friends bring out the best in you, and some diminish you; but they might do the opposite for other people, as dairy works well with some foods but not others.

It’s up to you to find out what works for you, but like food nutrition it probably doesn’t make that much difference while you’re young. With friends, you’ve probably got enough choice of friends and locations, in bigger places anyway, or the freedom to go elsewhere. With foods you’ve probably got enough health to not have to worry about nutrition, although there are unfortunately exceptions.

I didn’t start worrying about either that much until I was about 40, when health concerns meant eating healthily and cutting down on socialising meant the two kind of converged, or were allowed to converge by me, looking back on it self-analysis philosophically!?

Only For Those Wanting to Eat Better

That’s the friends analogy over with, and this is actually food nutrition, feeling I should mention it, but thinking I’ll probably get the same reception from most as Greg Davies’s protagonist in Man Down this week as he tried to inspire a thirst for knowledge!

While I thought I was eating quite healthily for most of my life, advances in scientific nutrition now suggest I wasn’t. Other people have lived to old ages eating ‘traditional food’, so I’m not trying to preach here. Showing I’m trying to provide the full picture, maybe the feel-good mental health factor of food you like the taste of will release endorphins etc that will outweigh the nutritional benefits of foods you don’t? I used to miss some foods, but don’t any more really, as I find there’s enough choice, but that’s a long process.

If you do believe in food science, the latest advice on how to get the best out of fruit and veg seems to seems to have been captured in one book by James Wong: How to Eat Better, which I am trying to follow, especially the storing and cooking parts, as the different types is constrained by availability and cost.

30th Anniversary Tour Finished: Thanks AAWfully, Rest greenYgreyly (coffilosophy wordplay to contemplate)

I concluded my 30th anniversary tour of my travels starting on August 25th, 1987 with a spectacularly genius combination: returning to my birthplace of Jersey for the first time in just over 50 years! It was a week full of the ups and downs typically experienced while independent travelling. I hope to write more about it soon.

One of my first photos in 1987.

My year of returning to hobo travelling on short trips 2017 tour took in:

  1. Scarborough to Withernsea coastal path trek in May.
  2. Helmsley to Scarborough imprecise rest of the Cleveland Way walk in June.
  3. Guns N’ Roses gig in the Olympic Stadium in June, camping in Abbey Wood.
  4. Camping and hiking in Jersey less than fortnight after anniversary, and in the month of my birthday, and taking a ferry across the channel as I did in 1987.

Thanks to all those I’ve met along the way and that have played a positive part in it, and especially the awesome AAWs and great greenYliens; and Guns N’ Roses for partly reforming and touring to take part in it (little self-parody there!!).

I really hope I brightened up the day of those who wanted to see me, as seeing people I’d heard of has for me over the years, such as sports and media people in Leeds.

Sorry if I didn’t acknowledge you if you wanted me to; or if I didn’t visit your locality if you wanted me to, or enter your workplace or use your transport.

The first of ignoring people was probably because some people take offence at me looking around, and some even use it to try and entrap me within a ‘negative’ for me, ‘positive’ for them. Sorry if you wanted to be positive, but I ‘wasn’t in the mood’! Like a reality show judge once said, I don’t want to disappoint anyone, and it can be quite mentally taxing at times, hopefully without sounding too self-obsessed!

The second was probably because of either my ambition to stay true to my original travelling as possible; to prove I did it originally to others, and that I can still do it to myself, probably in a middle-aged crisis kind of way.

I’d rather have been spending more money on beer and food, and occasional hotels and transport, but I was on my own little personal mission, and if I’d strayed too far from it, or even a little, the negatives would no doubt have made a mountain out of a molehill, as they’ve tried to do with my writing and running.

Anyway, I don’t want to dwell on the negatives too much, and I’m delighted to have accomplished the anniversary I wanted. Thanks again to all those who took part in it positively, helped along the way, or tolerated me hiking and camping around.

The greenYgrey decade also finished with the greenygrey3 subscription running out on September 4th, the day I travelled to Jersey, in a triple synchronisation of my writing career significance. ‘Mastermind genius’ used in a great way, but that will no doubt be ignored by the mainstream media and publishing; or turned negatively!

The books are there are as a greenYgrey legacy, and I really recommend them, especially the last two, and hope to write more about the greenYgreyology philosophy in the future, but as me, Doctor Marc Latham. I’ve tried to be very ethical the last decade, such as reining in promiscuity, mainly because the greenYgrey could appeal to all ages, and was oppsoing the child grooming disgrace, but some people even turn that into a negative.

I’ll be keeping this site going, and hope to have a new project or three soon, with lots of ideas, but no clear direction yet, in true greenYgrey style. If there are any experts or specialists in exercise, travel, media, sport or publicity etc interested, maybe now would be a good time to contact me.
